@David: I'd tell you to try any 2011.1 beta live CD's (KDE there would have the
fix from bug 173606), but there aren't any out yet....

(FWIW, there's a couple of community/unofficial repos that have KDE4.5.x
packages, if you have a spare HD partition, try doing a 2010.1 install and
update to KDE4.5.x from one of those repos..).
