[Uml-user] installation problem solved

Hello,

I would like to thank Sebastian Stein for his helpful pointer.
After using *up2date* with redhat 7.3 umbrello was able to work just  fine.

Once again I would like to reiterate the symptoms.

PROBLEM: 

Under redfhat 7.3 umbrello starts, shows the splash screen and then just 
crashes.

SOLUTION:

-Run the redhat 'up2date' program from the command shell.
-Initially select update for the kernel.
-select all the most current kde related libraries, etc..

 (I updated everything except any programs that I have patched manually, 
myself, and avoided updates for servers that I don't wish to mess up right 
now)

OUTCOME:

umbello works (HOORAY!!!)
Now I have a massive learning curve to get to.
