Please try Umbrello 1.3.1 avaiable with KDE 3.3.1 or from uml.sf.net, it fixes quite a
lot of crashes.  The problem you mention above does not crash for me.

Can you give a step-by-step guide to doing this.  It works for me.

No idea how easy/possible this is with Qt Canvas.  Please add a
wishlist entry to bugs.kde.org.
