I don't think the time spent with a tool during development dictates the 
implementation of those tools. Also the word "integration" does not imply 
that changes happen on one side only. For a full integration, you surely need 
to adapt both Gideon and Umbrello.

The point is: Gideon is a framework for an IDE. It is supposed to become 
useful for all phases in the development cycle, not only the implementation 
phase.

AFAIK you can use different editors in Gideon already.
