nop.. it's exactly the other way around! =)
well.. there is actually no 1.2 branch ( I dont think Jonathan has branched
and or tagged anything after he tagged head as 1.1.1)
but anyways.. it's not only that there is no "official" 1.2 branch, but that
all development in the 1.X series is done in KDE now. (no more commits to
SF)
What I propose, is head in KDE cvs is for futher development of 1.X series,
for release with KDE 3.2
We create a branch "2.0" in KDE where you can import your code, and then we
all can start working on it as a kind of an "experimental branch".
When this experimental branch becomes good enough, we tag the last 1.X version
and drop the new code into head (thous replacing all 1.X code)
Since Umbrello is to be released with KDE 3.2, we should do all development
for 1.X in KDE CVS, and I suggest that we start the redesign as an
"experimental branch" in KDE CVS as well just because otherways we are going
to lose all history if we later decide to import it into KDE.
And... you dont have to worry about marking your commits.. you just do one
checkout of this new branch, do your work there, and a simple "cvs commit"
will know where to put everything (info about what branch you are workin on
is saved in the CVS directory)
