okay... that wasn't quite as helpful as i thought. it looks like nsuml 
implements the JMI framework although, its kind of hard to figure out how. i 
think its implementation is actually the lightweight stuff we talked about. 
then that's used to generate more complicated or more complete metamodels.

i'm working on the reflective module design for a while today. i actually got 
some of it done this weekend. the exception framework is pretty weak. i'm 
sure it will need some revision as we go. although, i do think i figured out 
some techniques to make the reflective package as self-sufficient as possible 
(doesn't require re-implementation of methods in subclasses).
