error and warning messages

Hello. New taglib user here!

On calls to taglib_file_new, error messages are sent stderr. I want to do
two things.

1. Catch the errors in my code and sometimes handle them.
2. Prevent taglib from printing messages to stderr.

Are either of these possible, using the c bindings? (And much more
specifically, what is taglib_file_is_valid for? It is always returning
true...)
