The following forum message was posted by tfry at http://sourceforge.net/projects/rkward/forums/forum/165574/topic/3700146:
Hi,
the second part of the message is a bit misleading. The actual problem appears to be, that in fact the rkward \'R\'-library could not be loaded at all, and the second is just a consequence of the first, and should be ignored in this case. I\'ll need to work on the wording, of this message...
Before anything else, you will probably want to clean your system from any leftovers of the various methods that you installed rkward. This thread has instructions on how to do that: https://sourceforge.net/projects/rkward/forums/forum/165574/topic/3677349 .
It sounds like you are using a linux-distribution which does provide packages of rkward, and generally, installing those is the easiest way to get RKWard working. If RKWard still does not work after cleaning your system, and then installing afresh, you should report this to your distribution-provider. If you post some details on your distribution, perhaps we have more detailed advice for you.
Alternatively, for your self-compiled rkward, perhaps these tips help:
- When trying again, remove CMakeLists.txt from your build-directory. Run cmake again. Most likely you will need to provide the -DR_EXECUTABLE=/your/path/to/R option, but no other option besides that. Especially, please do not specify -DR_LIBDIR=... unless you know what you\'re doing.
- Make sure to run \"sudo make install\". RKWard will not work unless properly installed.
Regards
Thomas
