I think it is just this problem:
alobo at delia:~$ /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kdesu -t /usr/bin/R CMD R --no-save
< /home/alobo/.rkward/install_script.R
kdesu: Unknown option '-save'.

if I do

alobo at delia:~$ /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kdesu -t '/usr/bin/R CMD R --no-save' <
/home/alobo/.rkward/install_script.R

I start an R session, but stops at 
[Previously saved workspace restored]

and never ends

Perhaps you could add some print() commands to the install.script.R that gets
generated?
