I do think, scientists are a large part of our targeted user base. But not all 
scientists are tech-savy command-line heros. Many have excellent statistics 
kownledge, but no idea about programming. They are trying to get their job 
done, without having to learn a programming language, first. They commonly 
use SPSS or other tools right now, precisely because it allows them to do 
stats without having to do programming.

The command-line user may be more prevalent among scientists than in other 
groups, but I don't think the correlation between stats knowledge and 
programming knowledge is particularly high (no evidence to back up this 
claim, but lots of personal anecdotal observations).
