[RkWard-devel] 0.4.6 release timeline

Hi,

since the 0.4.5 release, we've seen a whole bunch of new and improved plugins 
coming in, but also some useful additions in the core application. Time to 
start thinking about the next release.

I'd like to propose the following timeline:

Today until 2007-02-07 (next Wednesday): Feature completion phase:
During this time, addition of new features is still possible. However, please 
do not start anything new, unless you are reasonably sure, you can complete 
it until the given deadline. If you have trouble completing a feature/plugin 
you have already started by the deadline, please ask for help.
If you have nothing new to do, consider helping with documentation, testing 
plugins, or similar tasks (there's plenty to do).
@Roland: Did you get any further with the "Run Block" functionality, and or 
the icons? Do you think you can get this done by next Wednesday?

Sunday 2007-02-04: 0.4.6pre1 Release, start of testing phase:
First preview release, call for testing. Translators may start translating, 
but there could still be some minor string changes (see below). Depending on 
how much time you will have available after 2007-02-11, you may want to hold 
off on the translation.

Wednesday 2007-02-07: Feature freeze for 0.4.6.
The 0.4.6 release branch will be created, and no new features will enter the 
release. New features may be added to the SVN trunk, but those will not 
become part of the 0.4.6 release. Documentation additions and bugfixes will 
be merged into the release branch.

Sunday 2007-02-11: 0.4.6pre2 Release, string freeze:
Second preview release, second call for testing. Hopefully most bugs will be 
fixed by now, but time for another close look, especially at the features 
that were added until 2007-02-07.
No string changes are allowed from now on, unless they fix critical bugs 
(since documentation still isn't translatable, documentation changes are 
still possible). Hence, this is a good time to start translations, if you 
have not already done so already (see above).

Wednesday 2007-02-14: Deadline for translations

Thursday 2007-02-15: Targeted release date.

Does this seem alright to you? If not, please speak up now. It's not too late 
to change everything, yet.
