Ich finde generell nextcloud sehr gut, und seit einigen Jahren gibt es mit
collective auch ein Wiki dazu:

Gute Einführung auf Deutsch:

Für Diskussionen bietet sich natürlich Discourse an:
https://www.discourse.org/

Hosting ist eine andere Frage, aber ich glaube für den Anfang bieten beide
genannten Projekte gratis oder sehr günstige Cloud Zugänge an.
