Yes. All of us ask permission for all changes we make. You've seen us do
that.
You can comment on our reviews too; any visual change normally has a
screenshot you can comment on.

Asking a different question: If in 12 months someone else redoes all the
icons you did and you're not around, how would you want us to handle it?
