yeah, unfortunately is a bit limited here :/
meego used connman instead of networkmanager that was quite limited.
that's the reason we switched to networkmanager in Mer (with the usual good
old applet ;).
unfortunately there is still not completely out of the box, the networkmanager
applet wasn't on by default in the last image and now there are problems
building networkmanager on latest mer release. all problems that will be fixed
shortly..
if you want, you can try to play with

but could require a bit of work anyways to get the network up and running
