things like that are explicilty been made as hard to do as we could (tough, 
unfortunately not impossible)
plasmoids should never ever control their appearance too much, and even less 
make any form of assumption on how its continment behave (like it's a desktop 
with a free positioning layout)
as i did tell you in the past, what you really want is to do that in a panel, 
really.
