It's not so much the fact that I'm a hacker. It's rather my opinion that a
network connection nowadays is something natural today, so as I user I just
want it to work and not be bothered with it at all (or at least only to the
absolute minimum required).
Since I also don't use the desktop (I tend to have about a dozen windows
open...), a plasmoid on the desktop is annoying to me. And a plasmoid on the
panel takes way too much space from the window list.
