and then, even with the grand plans of complete migration towards 
qml/javascript, in the case of qml a c++ class can still be used for the 
dirtiest stuff in the taskbar and just for the taskbar.

so not having this possibility in pure js and/or qml, is an acceptable loss 
imo.
