yes, i'm sure we'll see even more improvements to it in 4.2

nope. forget about "stickyness", it's all about grouping into activities.
trying to manage individual items per-virtual desktop and combine that with
zooming, activities, compositing window managers showing multiple desktops,
etc... it's really not worth it.
if you want something to follow you around, that's what panels are for. but
we're not going to around mixing concepts, nor do i think it's even necessary
to. the overwhelming number of imaginable use cases are covered by this
design, it keeps the code in a state that is potentially maintainable, etc.

doubtful. maybe in the distant (>2 releases?) future. this is one of those
things that leads to horrible amounts of configuration interface.
