           Summary: graphics for not-fullsized panel
           Product: plasma
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: panel-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: 2Kmm gmx de

Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: Linux

At the moment the special prefixed graphics (-north, -west, etc) for the panel are only used, if the panel is fullsized from one end of the screen to the other end. But if you change the panel to be not fullsized, the standard-graphics are used, which doesn't look very good for a panel on top of the screen and looks just very ugly if the panel is left or right.
I looked at the code and is saw, it's not a bug, it's a feature. ;) I see the goodness to make a thin border for fullsized panels. Which doesn't look very good for a not-fullsized one. So maybe we should add another prefix like *-north-fullsized or something. I would prefer to add a prefix for the non-fullsized graphics because this wouldn't break the current themes. But i don't know a good prefix-name for this. Maybe you know.

In short: Please change the current solution to have the possebility to have different graphics for not-fullsized panels. It just looks ugly without.
