i believe this was already discussed on the mailing list?

the question is, which is easier on the user:

* make the lock/logout applet configurable

* provide one applet per leave action

for the use case of "show the lock and logout icons next to each other", if 
you go through all the steps necessary in each scenario it is quicker/easier 
to make the lock/logout applet configurable in this case. it's even more so if 
one considers "show the lock and shutdown icons" due to Lock and Shutdown 
being separated more in the Applet Browser window right now (though Applet 
Browser could probably be made easier to browse through)
