and how does that help our users who use ATi and nVidia cards? (it doesn't)
and who will they blame? (kde)

the goal is to deliver the best kde4 to our users as possible. trying to get 
free software drivers for hardware isn't part of that agenda. please jion up 
with debian, the FSF, etc, etc if you wish to work towards free software 
drivers. i think that's a worthy goal and something to strive for, but this 
simply isn't a forum for it.
