no, you don't.
i guess you refer to the syncing capabilities which i am testing now since the beginning of time. but it must still be considered as beta and far from being usable productively.
just this morning i deleted a folder on the server via the web interface, and the client still doesn't recognize it, although it states successful syncing... yesterday evening i renamed a folder, and the client deleted it completely... and so on...
and both with the latest versions of owncloud (4.5.6) and client (1.2.0).

sounds familiar...
do you know about the --logwindow parameter for the client? maybe you can get some more info there...
