I would say profile page is bad.
Using usernames is bad too.
The suggestion I would make is using the sharing functionality.
We could just provide another sharing option. (aka writeaccess)
So you can share a folder link (pretty secure - token etc.) and give
write access. If you don't want it anymore just edit the sharing
permissions and done.

Some additional suddestion for sharing (just came to my mind) an
overview table on what is shared with what permission and an easy way
to edit the permissions or delete the share. I know it's in the
database, but some sort of interface would be cool. So you don't have
to dig through all your folders etc.
