Hi Arthur,

I did a fresh install, because I want to test the CIFS/SMB mount option on a separate system.
I transferred the Options by Copy and Paste.
When I click on " Test Configuration" I get the following lines in owncloud.log after some delay

{"app":"user_ldap","message":"Bind failed: -1: Can't contact LDAP server","level":3,"time":1344251664}
{"app":"user_ldap","message":"Connection could not be established","level":3,"time":1344251664}
{"app":"user_ldap","message":"Bind failed: : ","level":3,"time":1344251664}

Also there is an error box with the caption "Connection test failed" and the following Message:
" The configuration is valid, but the Bind failed. Please check the server settings and credentials."

The Button "Test Configuration" then has a red background and is very hard to read.

When I click on "Save" after some delay I get only a blank page displayed. And in the logs the same message as when I am clicking "Test Configuration".

There are no typos in the Config. When I am using a proxy user with a password without a $ everything works fine.

I tried if it would be also a problem for a normal user, having a $ in its password and created one. It was no problem to login.

Regards,
Thomas
