It seems you misunderstood me, so my approach (OpenMAX + OpenGL magic), *if* will work, it will require devices with android-14+, so, for lower versions we need something else. Here your approach seems to be the only one, so, if you have time, please *finish* and *test* the patch ! It doesn't matter if it will not work on android-4, but please make sure you don't break anything else :)
