[Marble-devel] New Idea for GSoC project on Marble

Hi Sanjiban,

the idea of combining tour suggestions with routing is a very nice one.
There's a webservice / phone app doing similar here:
http://www.komoot.de/

To realize something like that in Marble I'd keep the data storage
external though and integrate an existing webservice. I don't think
komoot offers some kind of API (please check), but there may be other
services like http://www.gpsies.com/ which do. We could integrate such a
service (assuming their terms of usage are ok) via a Marble online
plugin. From there on further features could be added (e.g. create a
custom route from a suggested tour which starts from the current
location, joins the tour, follows it, routes back to current location,
also tour rating or tour upload if the webservice allows).

Regards,
Dennis
