[Marble-devel] Review Request: Render License/Copyright into the copied/printed map

Yes, I had exactly the same concern when reading this. 
"Copyright Issue" means "Copyright Problem" - which looks like a warning.

So let's try to find something friendly: "Proper Credits", "Remember to mention the source."

Hm, so how do we keep our short credits then? "© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODBL/CC by-SA". That is actually pretty much way too long for use in mainstream media and covers way too much screen estate if you want to create a "free" 600x400 pixel map. It will either become small enough to be illegible or people will just ignore this mess of words (yay, mission accomplished in both cases). Or it will gently "force" publishers to not use the map at all or to do the credits in the way they figure it's alright.

I wonder whether for the printed or even both versions we shouldn't provide the credits / license _below_ the map.

Another question is whether we should allow for html links in the short license OR long license OR floatitem

The most laughable aspect about this nuisance is the sentence: "For a browsable electronic map, the credit should appear in the corner of the map. For example: [screenshot]
Now to see that in action just go to www.openstreetmap.org. It's stuff like this that makes me sometimes wish there was a public domain street map.
