I think they would have done themselves a favor if they would have suggested the commonly found: (c) OSM - CC-BY-SA  or (c) OSM.org, CC-BY-SA 
Easy recognition, simple enough to be read, easy to place - and surely will not raise less awareness about the involved legal requirements than the "proper" attribution that is harder to read and harder to understand.
