I'd also like to point out some issues related to GPS/GPX:
- The whole GPS/GPX functionality needs to get enabled now (So no #ifdefs).
Andrew: could you enable all your code in SVN? :-)
- We really need to add some code that adjusts the Position and Altitude
("Zoom") to the bounding box of the GPS file. Otherwise it rather turns into
a "hide and seek" game.
- IIIRC I still get screen updates/redraws even if the GPS position doesn't
get changed.
- This file didn't work for me: http://www.topografix.com/fells_loop.gpx.
Andrew: could you have a look why it doesn't work?
Together with some other people who are more proficient and have more
experience with XML parsers I had a closer look at the KML source code. I
think it would be best to merge GPX and KML parsing (and later on GeoRSS)
into a common framework in the next few weeks. Someone from the KSVG project
sent me some "prototype" code already that has some improvements over the
current source code we have. I'll write about details in another mail later
on. But don't let that keep you from searching for potential bugs in the
current GPX implementation.
Ingwa / Andrew: Are there any more things that need to get ironed out before
we release Marble 0.5 / KDE 4 Beta 3 ?
