Did you also remove "qtvisionrc" (it should be in $HOME/.kde/share/config)? 
If not, at least disable the Video Desktop setting in there. In 
"qtvisionrc" you should see a line line this in the [General] section:

Enable Video Desktop=true

If so, change it to:

Enable Video Desktop=false

And try again.
