   It sounds like you are using hte Xv driver.  I believe that is the problem.  
I dont' have a Rage128 card though so I can't tell for sure.

   Hmm not sure right now.  I'll look at thsi again when I have more time. 
(after kde 3.1.0 comes out at the earliest)
