  This was my original plan for the statusbar but I didn't get it done in time 
and it was implemented as it currently is.  I may integrate it for 1.2.0.

   I'll investigate.  If it doesn't get fixed today, it would help if you 
could file a bug report so we don't lose track of it.  Thanks.
