[Kst] kst on amd linux 64

This is very strange.

Endian problems would make you read junk - but not nothing.
And I think that the x86_64 is the same as the x86.

But why would it come back with nothing... hmmm....

Ted: I looked at your getdata - looks great.  My only question is weather we 
want to compile in putdata...
