[KPhotoAlbum] Can't see images -> broken index.xml?

Hi,

Some more information:

I happened to try the 'show images not on disk' and was able to see thumbs
of files not on disk any more (=I've removed). Viewer and tag dialog also
shows the tags!
Then I let KPA search for a while for images with incorrect dates and got
some hits. This time the images opened in viewer and showed the tags
correctly.
Clicking a tag in Viewer takes me to 'main view' with options to select
more tags to filter - but again no images can be seen.
Statistics show values -1  0  0.00 for 'all' rows (totaling -6 0 0.00) and
for any tag I also get the same statistics.

By the way, how do I remove git-compiled, installed version of KPA - or
what do I need to do to overwrite it with my latest compile. It seems to be
stuck now on a release and no matter how many times I cmake/make/make
install, it won't change. The version from repository has been removed. So
I now run from the build directory.
