[KPhotoAlbum] KPhotoAlbum Crashes when viewing thumbnails

Thank you for the replies. I don't really have the time now to try to trace or debug KPA. I have done the following:

I first moved about 2,000 photos from the directory upon which I am working.The problem still occurred. I then removed another 1,000 or so. Now it has been working without crashing for about 10 hours. I guess the next step is to start adding them back to see if I can narrow things down.

Are you using a self-compiled version from the svn (now git) or some 
pre-packaged version? IIRR a few issues similar to this have been fixed 
on the "development" version of KPA. At least some related exif information were fixed.



Running KPA with strace might show what file is being processed when KPA
 crashes. I have also made a patch to add debugging output (filename 
being processed) earlier to help in situation like this. Might be worth a
 try.

Instead
 of filtering, you could just copy a few of your pictures to another 
location on your disk and start up KPA pointing at that directory 
instead of your main one.
If that works, then you could gradually add more of your pictures to the new location or swap out one group for another.

A
 test like this isn't perfect because KPA will build a new database for 
these pictures without any of your tags, etc., but it still might tell 
you something about what's going on and only requires basic computer 
skills to do.

Doing this will not affect your current KPA 
database, so, when you point KPA back to it, all your tags, etc. will 
still be there.
