[KPhotoAlbum] Why do Keyboard shortcuts act globally

Hi,

I think it strange that some keyboard combinations are catched by
kphotoalbum even if it does not have focus. E.g.
<SHIFT>-<CTRL>-<LEFT>/<RIGHT> is suddenly turning my images, even while I am
typing this mail in Gmail when I try to mark multiple words using this
keyboard shortcut. I think this is happening since some time already ,not
just in the latest release, so not a recent regression, I just didn't have
time to ask earlier.

So is kphotoalbum registering global keyboard shortcuts on-purpose? Can I
turn it off? Or is this a strange bug?

This is with KPhotoAlbum 4.1.1 from
https://launchpad.net/~dominik-stadler/+archive/ppa/+packages on Ubuntu
Karmic with KDE 4.3.4.
