I got same problem.
I can't give any criterias about how it comes.

When I try to give a date to pictures:

    * some are ok
    * some lose every thing
    * some can't be changed in any maner (no lost, no change)

I use the last snapshot (compiled yesterday).
It was the same problem on the previous version (2.0).

I have about 6500 pictures.
