I don't know... *maybe* I'd get used to it eventually as well, but my knee-jerk reaction is that I don't want to have to hold some modifier key to make Konsole do what I meant. Philosophically, I feel like the default behavior should be for Konsole to do exactly what I told it to (giving me an option to change that is fine).

I think I'd rather see:
MMB - paste exactly what is on the clipboard
ctrl+MMB - if zero or one newline characters, paste w/o newline, otherwise ask what to do (i.e. give option to paste as-is, edit, cancel, replace newline with some other character, etc)

...and I suppose an option, even "on" by default, to flip the behavior would be OK.

The only time I ever have problems in KDE3 is when I'm wrong about what the clipboard contains, or when Konsole has added newlines to something that's not supposed to have them.

Conclusion: none, except that so far the change just rubs me wrong...
