And BTW, while this initially annoyed me as well, when I discovered the Ctrl-hold behaviour and thinking about it, it has started to make sense. It's really easier to hold Ctrl when you _do_ want to paste the newline, than mousing trying to catch the exact end of the line (so that the newline won't get selected) when you _don't_.
