About the semicolons idea: is it possible for Konsole to check whether or not a shell is running inside it? I guess it would not be too hard for local processes, but as soon as you run something under SSH, there is no way to see whether the program receiving the input is a shell or something else.

What Tom describes is similar to how Konversation handles multi-line pastes and that works well in practice. People who like to live dangerously can use the "Don't ask me again" checkbox, everyone else gets a chance to review their action.
