No idea what's wrong, but you might try doing a Save As to a different
file name. In particular, when you first do that - look at what
directory it offers to save the file in. Then look in that directory
to see if it has actually been saving stuff, but just not where you
expected. No, I don't think this is actually what happened, but it's
easy enough to check, just in case.
One question - where is the .8 file? Even if you directly opened it or
made a copy and opened that, it shouldn't have been deleted. Second
question, the current and .9 files are larger than the later backups.
That doesn't make sense if you have only been adding data.
Also, it might be worth trying a few tests only adding one or two
transactions between saves (maybe even creating a test kmy file with
phony data just for testing.)
