Ideally, try to produce an anonymous file. If you're confident of your
editing ability, and if you are able to install kmm2, but it too fails
to accept your file, or, if you can't install KMM2, load your file into
KMM and save with filter set to xml, as xxxx.xml -use a different name
so you're not working on your live data
- and load into an editor.
THIS IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS!
Search through all 'payee' entries and look for anything out of place
or odd. If you can, edit it. Before even thinking about deleting it,
bear in mind that that payee could be referenced in multiple
transactions/splits. Search for that payee's id, to find other
references. Then save the file as xxxx.kmy and try to reload it.
Hopefully, there may just be a single payee at fault, but you may need
to check them all.
THIS IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS, so AGAIN - don't use your
live data. You've obviously gone to a lot of trouble to get this
far, so don't blow it!
Allan
