Hi Allan,
Correct, the lengthy reconstruct seems to have done the trick. To
clarify, the "reconstruct" was uninstalling KMM and then reinstalling it
as "new" using the data file from a point in the past I knew to be
problem-free and then rebuilding the accounts from that point in time
onward using my bank statements and unposted transaction vouchers.
The problems occurred pre-reconstruct. While I was still having
problems I did try changing the backup location but with the same
resulting error messages and, yes, I have gobs of room on that external
drive.
So, thanks very much for tackling this for me but, in truth, I think I'm
OK now although I'm curious as to why KMM went off after working well
for so long.
