the output until you're done, but in exchange you get incredibly
smooth outputs. It's a choice I'd like to have.

As for the "set to stroke length" feature, it depends on what the 
interface will be when size fade and such options are implemented
(I don't see them yet in the current alpha version...)

Somewhere near the "fade distance", you'd have a "set to stroke
length" check-box, except you can only activate it for this tool
and for the path tool. For the other options it's dimmed. What
this would do is:
1. Take the path output
2. Calculate the path length
3. Set path length as fade distance parameter
4. Apply stroke/fade along the path

Eventually I'd like to see more effects with this option, including
"double-edge," meaning both sides of the stroke are thinned. A size
increase then size fade, basically.
