  Not my job. :-)  I agree it's horribly annoying, but I don't have intentions 
to work on this.

  At least by the content, possibly to an extent by the user.

  Already should be 100% permanent.  If not, it's a bug.

  I will be extremely vocal against that.  Maybe it will be hidden by default 
in some distributions or even our source packages, but it should -always- be 
there.

  Well we could make it smaller.

  This is my concern too.
