How to create a project from binary sources

There is a bunch of sub-projects there. Which projects exactly do you 
want to compile?
I had a short look at that older player-src-1.3.2.tar.gz but did not yet 
try to import it into KDevelop. At least it is an automake project 
(contains Makefile.am's), so importing it as QMake would work only if 
you use quite some extra effort.
According to the status -2. There should be more info. Did you use full 
messages mode? (RMB in the messages window and select from the list.)
