Getting started with Kdevelop

Hi,

I am new to writing programs in C, but would like to try to use an IDE I
have had a look at a couple and like the look and feel of Kdevelop over
a couple of others. But i have one problem, once installed and i create
a new project, I get the following error messages.

configure.in:101: error: m4_popdef: undefined macro: AC_Dest
autoconf/status.m4:844: AC_CONFIG_FILES is expanded from...
configure.in:101: the top level
autom4te: /usr/bin/m4 failed with exit status: 1
make[1]: *** [cvs] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 2
sh: line 1: ./configure: No such file or directory

is this to do with autoconf or automake versions?

I have tried to find an answer but not quite sure as i haven't been able
to see this problem or it's answer.

Any help would be appreciated
