Project -> Import Existing Project. Works well and doesn't touch your 
Makefile.am unless you explicitely change something in the automake manager. 
*.kdevelop files are gone now, KDevelop will access Makefile.am or *.pro 
files directly.

The release cycle is in sync with KDE 3.2, so this winter. Check www.kde.org
