I don´t know how to use kaudio, but perhaps this part of code will help you a
little.
I use it for playing 44100Hz,16bit stereo files but it can be changed
easily. It works with OSS and my soundcard.
Its not very well commented ;-) but its easy to use..
Just create a wavplayer, set the the path of a wavfile to be played and play
it... if bool_repeat is set to true, it will repeat playing the file on and on.

Not to forget... much of this code was inspired by a release of krecord, that
was shipped with my suse 6.0.
