Definition Use Chain in Kdevelop 4

I think it would be a useful feature to add.

Sometimes the DUCHAIN does not update.

I had previously done what you suggested below by deleting the .kdevduchain
directory to get the chain to update

Hi Ted,

there's currently no way to trigger a reparse of a complete project, except
deleting the subdirectory in $HOME/.kdevduchain/ that corresponds to the
session id in which you're working. Or deleting the complete .kdevduchain
subdirectory (I'm not 100% sure when the usage of session-subdirs was
introduced for the duchain).

If your KDE is at least 4.6 you could also build kdevelop/kdevplatform from
source to get newer versions and install them into your $HOME.

Hello Hamish,

I was reading your article on the KDevelop 4 DU Chain
(http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.kde.devel.kdevelop/17140) but still
had some questions.

First of all let me say that KDevelop 4 is fantastic! It took me a while to
get used to the transition from KDevelop 3, but I can now fully appreciate
the work that was done here.

I am currently using KDevelop 4.1 as I am for the moment frozen at Fedora 13
for development purposes. (I could probably update at some point).

I am wondering if there is a way in 4.1 to have the entire DU Chain be
updated (like Regenerate Ctags in 3.x). Is that a feature that may be in a
future release or already available in 4.3?

Thank you for you time,
Ted Tash

I'm sorry but I've had no time for KDE development for a few years. I'm
cc'ing to the developer mailing list so that someone that is up to date with
the current state of things can assist.

Cheers,

Hamish.
